Arrow Key Controls:

← / → — Move block left or right
↑ or X — Rotate block clockwise
Z — Rotate block counterclockwise
↓ — Soft Drop (accelerate fall)
Spacebar — Hard Drop (instantly place the block)
P — Pause the game
R — Restart the game

Beginners are encouraged to practice using “↑ / Z” for rotations — understanding each piece’s rotation pattern greatly improves efficiency.

Game Objective

Rotate and move blocks to stack them neatly. When a full horizontal line is filled, it disappears and awards points.

Clearing a line earns you points.
Combos (multiple lines) trigger bonus points.
As levels increase, blocks will fall faster.

Tips & Strategies

1. Keep a Central Gap

Try to keep the sides even and leave a vertical space in the middle. When the “I” piece appears, you can clear multiple lines at once — the classic “Tetris” move.

2. Prioritize a Flat Base

Uneven lower layers make future placement harder and disrupt chains. Don’t rush to stack high — stability is key to scoring big.

3. Learn Each Piece’s Rotation Pattern

Each piece (I, O, T, L, J, S, Z) has its own rotation center. Practice different angles to improve quick placement at higher speeds.

4. Use Soft and Hard Drops Wisely

Soft Drop (↓): For small adjustments.
Hard Drop (Space): For quick placement when confident — saves time and builds rhythm.

5. Recover from a High Stack

If your stack gets too high, don’t panic. Avoid hard drops — look for flat areas and clear one or two lines first to stabilize the field.

6. Master Timing and Previewing

The “Next Piece” preview on the right shows the upcoming block. Anticipating and planning ahead is the key to consistent high scores.

Extra Tips

Pause (P): Take a break and plan your next move.
Restart (R): Quickly restart to practice new techniques.
